Practice Makes Perfect

Acrylic paint, acrylic paint markers, henna paste on canvas. This was done on an old painting rather than a blank canvas. The vibrant mandala underneath the other layers was made freehand when I was twelve, and because I have several others like it, I wanted to make it a little different. When I had made that piece I was inspired by traditional henna designs, but I didn’t have a henna cone or know how to use it at the time. Now, since I can do henna, I thought it would be fun to demonstrate my progress by incorporating that into the design.
